Hi, I just wanted to say that in May 1995 I tried Tom PLatz's and LeoCosta's overly advertised Big Beyond Belief Program of Serious Growthfrom Optimum Training Systems. Before this program I had tried everythingdifferent training techhniques, high intensity, low intensity, cycling, periodization, etc. I also tried different diets.
I drove my friendsnuts with all of the egg white's I was drinking daily, and the enormousquantities of food I was eating. I also tried different supplements, like amino acids, Mega Mass 4000, Cybergenics, etc. You get the point!Anyway, Nothing seemed to work for me. When I first startedweightlifting, I gained an enormous amount of weight (17 lb) because my bodywas in shock, than it got used to it and I had to change my routine, butthat didn't help; I hit an UNbreakable plateau. So when I tried BigBeyond Belief (BBB), I conjured up the last ounce of enthusiasm I had inme.
NOW, 18 weeks later I have completed Level 1 and am off to level2.I should probably give up at this point(A six day program can kill a guymy size).Anyway, the results so far are in. After 18 weeks of hard labor andtorture, I have gained. 2 fuckiiiing pounds oflean body mass. And that's all! They said the results would bephenomenal- apparently NOT!!!!!I think this program was designed for all those steroid users out there.Hey, You juicers!
If you want a program that will give you excellant resultstry THIS ONE!!Shit I've been had again. Anyway, I haven't given up yet.
There are 2last things I can do. BBB has in it an emergency program just in case alltheother programs don't work, but you should only use it If you've reachedwhatthey call stagnation. BBB claims I can gain 4 pounds of lean body mass inonly 16 days. Well, I looked at the program, and it's too tough to doduring school time.
So I'll have to wait until the winter break. Itinvolves taining for 1.5 hours for 6 days and then training for 30minutes 6 times a day for the next 10 days while starving the body ofprotein for 4 days and increasing carbs, and on the fifth day, lettingloose and eating extremely high protein and low carbs for diet (theprocess is repeated again, so that it comes out to 10 days). If this doesn't work I'll give up on Body Building and just lift tostay in shape. In the meantime I took on aweightlifting class, whose instructor claims he can put BBB to shame; Helaughed when I told him about it. He has trained Powerlifters,BodyBuilders, and Football players. He is my other chance at breaking myplateau next to the 4 pounds in 16 days program. So, I'll keep you readers out there posted on my progress, OK.Right now, I weigh 152 pounds with 13% fat at 5'9'-Eiran'The important thing is to have funand a lot of patience.'
Forsmi02.09.95 0:00. I went from weighing 140 to 180 in one year. I put on forty, yes fortypounds of muscle in one year.
I guess that roughly 3 pounds a month. Iused heavyweight gainer 900 (cost $35.00 for a 7 pound bucket) at halfservings and ate for about 8 hours a day.
As a correctional officer upin a tower I didn't have much else to do. I live and die by heavyweightgainer 900.
Only other excuse I could think of is that I had just turned22 and everyone says you hit a growth spurt, that could also be it but Idon't think so. Hevyweight works.Ravi Achrol03.09.95 0:00.

You need to relax man. I mean, damn, you're just doing way way too toomuch. Forget about BBB; there's a much simpler way to lift.HEAVY WEIGHTSLOW REPSLOW SETS- all to failure - all the time - no exceptionslift each bodypart once per weekworkout 3 times a week (max)sleep sleep sleepstop moving (no dancing, no biking, no jogging, no women, limited walking, etc.)eat like a mo fo -6+ meals a day (try and get 200g of protein a day in)and you'll grow.I gained 30 lbs in about 4 months this past year. I used to have a fastmetabolism, and could never gain weight. So I became immobile. Stopdancing, stop going to clubs, stop messing with married women, etc.
And Ilifted very heavy, very intensely. Always to failure. 3 times aweek. And I ate like I never ate before. Every 2.5 hours w/lots ofprotein. Eat chicken, eat beef. Protein shakes are fine, but limitthose to when you wake up, quickly after a workout (in addition to yourregular meal), and before you go to bed.
You follow this regimen(religiously) and you'll grow. I can guarrantee (well, I really can't, Iguess) that if you follow this you'll gain 20 lbs.
Within 3 months.lifting doesn't need to be so complicated, it's actually quite easy!John-all comments and opinions are mine, not yours, nor the people I'm working for.Blaine Hufnagle06.09.95 0:00. You either have to be with a woman(assumingthat you are straight)(had to put that in for all of the PC crowd outthere!!) or play the old knuckle shuffle with your piss pump. Sorry, I didn't mean to say exclude women from your life. I could never do that. What I meant was that you have to excludesome of the things where you may encounter women. Like clubs - I used togo to dance clubs at least 3 times a week.
I love dancing, but all extraaerobic activity plus all the damn smoking there was just getting to be abit too much. And, yes, I do have a woman (I suppose I needsome aeorbic activity. I hope this makes more sense(clarification).to blaine-it's not as hard as it sounds. I mean, it would be great to not have towork a day job, and be able to relax all day. (I have two friends whichare doing exactly this - their father's supporting them).
I'm fortunatethough to have a job where I can sit and eat whenever I feel like it.unless it gets real hectic. Anyways.the bottom line is this:if you want to get big, you've gotta be dedicated.if you're not dedicated, well, obviously, it's going to take a much longertime to reach your goals.just mi dos pennies-all comments and opinions are mine, not yours, nor the people I'm working for.Blaine Hufnagle07.09.95 0:00. I thought it would be a lot easier than it is turning out, butthat doesn't mean I'm not keeping up with it. I have a T-shirt that says:'Weightlifting is Life. The rest is just details.'
Until you've actually taken the time to TRUELY live this statement, you can'tappreciate how difficult living it actually is.-blaineDarren Mulford08.09.95 0:00. I have also used Big Beyond Belief and have modest results withit. I have had better gains with BBB, than on my own. It may bedue to the intensity of the program. I am a runner/NordikTracker who began using weights to add some conditioning to myupper body. I am 52 yrs old and have found without altering mydiet, my body fat stays low, and I feel better about myconditioning. Whether the BBB is the answer or not, I don'tknow.
I have decent results with it, and am rather pleased withit. I am certain there are other programs that would do the samewhen you follow them with intensity. I like it because it givesme a pattern to follow.
I use the ramping and find I don't getstale, and I have fast workouts. I must admit the goal is not tobecome bulky, but rather to tone and maintain my aerobic fitness.Parker Reed12.09.95 0:00.

Btw just realized, not sure about the program, but you might be doing a 'bodybuilding' type routine in a deficit which is kind of a waste of time.Stick to something with high intensity and low volume. You're eating at a deficit so there's no reason to be doing all that volume, you don't have the calories to build the muscle.
Follow a strength training program, it's the most efficient way to maintain strength at a deficit. This has a lot to do with how high of a bf% you are and your experience as well. When I started I was at to do 5x5 and still progress. As time went on I plateaued and realized that it was just too much, way too much actually. I lowered my volume and (surprise surprise!) I started progressing again. It does but make sure you're losing weight. If you eat 750 less on rest days and 300 over on workout days you end up with:750.
4 = 3000300. 3 = 900So you're only in a 2100 calorie deficit. That's less than 1lb/week which is really slow for fat loss. Depending on your bf%, recommend eating at maintenance on workout days and 750-800 less on rest days, that'll get you closer to 1lb/week. If you have a higher bf% then I'd say keep the rest days like that but eat less on workout days, maybe 200-300 less than maintenance. It's a matter of what people put into it.simply put many people start the program without the ability to complete all of the workouts. Some do something stupid like embark on the 6 workouts a week a program or even something stupider like the twice a day 6 days a week program. The program is also not for beginners. Its definitely for intermediate or advance trainees who are beyond wanting to see linear progression on every single workout. When I did the program I simply ate and ate at maintenance for about 3 weeks then started lowering carbs as I went.I'd lower carbs by 50 grams per week and another 50 grams per week before I knew it I was doing something right because I was staying as strong as I was and starting to look great.unfortunately I have a bad tendency to start and stop programs without giving them their full run through.I sincerely wish I had seen it all the way through.
Actually at this point I may even forgo intermittent fasting entirely as I'm talking to you about it thinking about how well I did in the program by simply lowering my carbs a little in my calories overall.all that boils down to is putting an extremely hard work with the program knowing what your body is capable of and being able to actually recover that's the most important parts of succeeding on a program like big beyond belief.
